Benefits of Hong Kong PhD Fellowship
- Fellows receive an annual stipend of HK$337,200 (approximately US$43,230 over three years). The university will provide additional support if the doctoral course lasts beyond 3 years.
- No previous work experience is required.
- There is no requirement to apply for the first scholarship.

How to apply for Hong Kong PhD Fellowship in 2026?
- Applicants must apply separately for the university and this scholarship.
- Applicants must first apply for the scholarship.
- To apply for a scholarship, applicants must first complete an application through the Hong Kong Doctoral Scholarship Scheme Electronic System (HKPFSES).
- After submitting the first application, applicants will receive a reference number.
- Applicants must apply to the selected universities (up to 2 universities and 2 disciplines as required) with the reference number specified in the university’s application form.
- If applicants forget to provide the HKPFSES reference number, their application will be reviewed regularly and will not be considered for this scholarship.
- Each university has different submission deadlines, so to get a reference number before the deadline, complete the first application as soon as possible to meet the university’s deadline.
