Duration of European Union Traineeships in 2025

From March to July, the European Parliament 2025 hosts the five-month Schuman internship.

Traineeship Location

The European Commission and its organizations and services use interns, primarily in Brussels, but also in Luxembourg and other EU sites.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must not have prior employment experience in the European Commission, an EU institution, a delegation, the CJEU’s Advocate General, or the European Parliament.
This period cannot last more than six weeks if the candidate has prior experience in one of the aforementioned sectors.
Candidates must be proficient in at least two official EU languages.
A candidate’s worldwide reputation, which may demonstrate through work, volunteer work, or study outside of the country, can earn them bonus points.
Candidates who published articles and documents, have little research, and are enrolled in certain topics will get bonus points and priority points.
Students with at least three years of required higher education and 180 credit hours are eligible to apply. A full bachelor’s degree or its equivalent is also required.
To be eligible for the degree, candidates must be able to provide a degree completion certificate or official confirmation from the institution.
