Financial Coverage of USTC Fellowship 2025

USTC Fellowship for undergraduate programs is available in 2 tiers.

  • Level A encompasses tuition waiver, medical insurance, a monthly stipend of 2,500 RMB, and accommodation assistance.
  • Level B consists of waived tuition fees.

USTC Fellowship for master’s programs is offered in 2 tiers.

  • Level A encompasses tuition waiver, medical insurance, a monthly stipend of 3,000 RMB, and accommodation assistance.
  • Level B consists of waived tuition fees, and support for Teacher assistance or Research assistance will be accessible.

Similarly, USTC Fellowship for doctoral programs is available in 3 tiers.

  • Level A encompasses tuition fee waivers, medical insurance, and a monthly stipend of up to 7,000 RMB.

Eligiblity Criteria

  • Must be citizens from a nation other than China (For all programs and levels).
  • Must possess a valid passport. (For all programs and levels)
  • Be in good physical and mental health. (For all programs and levels).
  • Also, for undergraduate candidates, a high school diploma is required; for master’s programs, a bachelor’s degree; for doctoral program candidates, a master’s degree.
  • Must provide Pre-graduation Certificate to verify that they will obtain their degrees prior to receiving this scholarship. (For all programs and levels).
  • For undergraduate programs, applicants must be under 30 years of age; for master’s programs, applicants should not exceed 35 years of age; for doctoral program level A, candidates should be under 35 years old; for level B, candidates should be under 45 years old.
  • For undergraduate students, it is necessary to complete the Chinese language course new HSK Level 5 or higher, while for master’s and doctoral programs, completion of the Chinese language course new HSK Level 4 or higher is required.
  • Undergraduate applicants are not qualified for a scholarship if they have already received any other Chinese scholarship.
  • For candidates in doctoral programs, they should not currently be pursuing their PhD degree at any institution in China.
  • Proof of English language proficiency must be provided. (Applicable for all programs and levels).
  • Prospective students must satisfy the admission standards for international students established by USTC. (This applies to all programs and levels).
  • During the scholarship duration, participation in any other assignments is prohibited. (Applies to all programs and levels).

For undergraduates:

  • Photocopy of passport.
  • Official photocopies of senior high school graduation diploma and transcripts.
  • Pre-graduation Certificate issued by senior high school.
  • Photocopies of Certificate of new HSK Level 5 along with transcripts.
  • Completed Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
  • Recommendation letter from senior high school.
  • Guardian Statement for candidates under 18 years old.
  • Similarly, International students from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan need to provide the Immigration certificate, Proof of the cancellation of the original Chinese citizenship, Photocopy of passport pages with customs stamps, and Proof of residence abroad.

Similarly, for Masters:

  • A study or research proposal (minimum of 800 words).

  • Two letters of recommendation with contact information.
